(AgapePress) - A Texas-based evangelist will soon be able to spread the gospel throughout a radical Islamic country, giving tens of millions of Muslims the opportunity to respond to God's message of love.Sammy Tippitt is president of Sammy Tippitt Ministries in San Antonio. That ministry, also known as "God's Love in Action" will soon begin broadcasting Christian messages to some 60 million people in a Muslim nation, which cannot be named for security purposes.
Tippitt says he has been in this particular country before and has one main concern -- that the gospel message will receive such an overwhelmingly positive response that his ministry will not be able to handle it.
The broadcast minister says in his encounters with the Muslims of this country, he discovered that they are hungry for God's Word. "They've just never heard the Good News. They've heard religion and all these things, but they've never heard the good news that God loved them so much that He sent is own son Jesus to die on a cross," he says, "and our messages will be purely evangelistic."
The ministry's founder has signed a six-month contract to broadcast uncensored evangelistic programming into the Muslim nation -- broadcasts that he says will be in the cultural context and in the language of the people. He believes the response will be tremendous.
Tippitt says as he was preaching during previous visits to the Islamic country, he was surprised at how receptive the people were to his message.
"Yes, there were those who hated us and those who would like to do harm to us in this region of the world," he says, "but most people were very gracious and just really open to hear the Word of God. I've been amazed at the openness of people."
Tippitt's passion for evangelism has carried him all over the world to preach in war-torn and oppressed regions known to be hostile to the gospel. He has authored and co-authored several Christian books that have been translated into numerous languages, and continues to emerge as a leading voice for the gospel of Christ, preaching at some of the largest evangelistic gatherings in the world.
