(AgapePress) - An author and syndicated radio talk-show host says liberal elites in the U.S. are so convinced society does not need God that they have fired him.Author Laura Ingraham has written a Top 10 bestseller called Shut Up and Sing: How Elites From Hollywood, Politics, and the U.N. Are Subverting America (Regnery Publishing, 2003). In the book, the conservative talk-show host says liberal elites are bent on removing God from the public square and erasing all religion from public life -- unless, of course, that religion is Islam.
"They're all excited about the Muslim leaders meeting at the White House during Ramadan, and they're all excited when the president goes to a mosque after September 11, and they were fine with that," Ingraham says.
Yet, she points out, all the while Christianity remains under attack. "I think people of faith across this country are really beginning to feel like they are under assault. People of faith believe that the secular culture is really encroaching upon their own freedoms, and I think they're right to feel that way. I mean, I know I feel that way," the author says.
Ingraham believes the American people are eventually going to demand that their leaders rein in the federal courts and put an end to judicial activism.
"I think the more judges get into the business of legislating from the bench and making up things that are not in the Constitution, not in the First Amendment, [the more] the people are going to eventually demand of their leaders some type of a narrowing of the federal court jurisdiction so constitutionality is determined by the people themselves, not by un-elected judges," Ingraham says.
In addition to writing books and hosting her own nationally syndicated radio program, Ingraham is a frequent columnist and television commentator.
