(AgapePress) - An Israeli Consulate General based in Atlanta, Georgia, is outraged that the United Nations has voted to ask the International Court of Justice to determine whether his country is legally obligated to tear down its self-defense barrier in the West Bank.Shmuel Ben-Shmuel, Consulate General of Israel to the Southeast, is incensed over last week's decision by the U.N. General Assembly. He says it is apparent that the U.N. does not believe Israel should have the same rights that other nations have, such as the right to ensure its own survival.
"I think it's really outrageous, this decision, because what it actually says is that all countries in the world can defend themselves, except one -- Israel," he says.
Ben-Shmuel asserts that the General Assembly is the same organization that 20 years ago declared that Zionism is racism. "Nothing can surprise me when it comes to the U.N.," he says. "If tomorrow the Arab world would like to declare that the moon is a big Swiss cheese, they will get their votes in the United Nations."
According to Ben-Shmuel, it is obvious that the U.N. is being controlled by the Arab and Muslim blocs in conjunction with Third World countries that he says have joined them "due to their own interests and convenience."
