(AgapePress) - An Israeli expert on the Middle East says it is foolish for Americans to believe those who say the capture of Saddam Hussein doesn't mean anything. He contends the former Iraqi dictator clearly has the blood of Americans on his hands.Victor Mordecai recently published his third book, Islamic Threat Update Almanac, in which he lays out his contention that Saddam not only played a major role in the events of September 11, 2001, but in earlier terrorist attacks as well.
"In my third book, I talk very clearly about the role of Saddam Hussein in the destruction of the World Trade Center and 9-11, but also the first attack [on the World Trade Center] in February of 1993," the former Israeli government official says. "I also talk about Saddam [being] behind the Oklahoma City bombing [of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995] and the shooting down of TWA Flight 800 [on July 19, 1996]."
Mordecai says he received first-hand information that the fertilizer used in the Oklahoma City tragedy involved three Middle Eastern men. "Then there was an NBC reporter [Jayna Davis] who revealed that the FBI refused to accept the thousand pages of documents that this was indeed a Saddam Hussein-Iraqi Army-Republican Guard attack in Oklahoma City," he says.
The author also maintains that Saddam knew in advance of the 1996 downing of TWA Flight 800 that resulted in the deaths of all 230 people aboard the aircraft.
"TWA Flight 800 came down on Iraq's independence day. You think that's a coincidence?" Mordecia asks. "Saddam Hussein made a speech the day before in which he said that tomorrow is Iraq's independence day, and we're going to give the world a big surprise."
In addition, he says, the Iraqi leader had a hand in the first attack on the World Trade Center on February 26, 1993. "Ramzi Yousef, who built the bomb in New York City in 1993, was an Iraqi agent -- but he also worked with Osama bin Laden," he says. "Hence the connection to Osama bin Laden."
Mordecai says the media will not touch these stories because many of them involve then-President Bill Clinton and his desire to do business with the Arab world. "The truth has to come out [but] the media in America doesn't want to talk about it," he says.
