Book of Revelation Answers the Question: 'Who Will Conquer?'

(AgapePress) - While many books have been written about the last book of the Bible, one author says there is a basic, profound message in the Book of Revelation.

In his book Eternity Now! Encountering the Jesus of Revelation, Peter Hiett says the final book in the Bible is about the hope, comfort, and victory God has in store for all who choose to live and die for Jesus.

"The Lord is coming back -- whether you get hit by a truck this afternoon, or the end of space and time as we know it [occurs]," the author says. "So don't camp out here; don't set your hopes on this world."

Hiett says a proper understanding of the Book of Revelation can transform the thoughts, actions, relationships, and live of believers. And even though the presentation of Jesus in Revelation often gets lost in a maze of modern interpretations, he says it should beg the question from every reader: "Who will conquer?"

"Then the revelation or the vision that John [the writer of Revelation] has, from a whole lot of different angles, answers that question -- and that [answer] is: Jesus conquers. And those who are with Him conquer," Hiett says.

Hiett, who is senior pastor of Lookout Mountain Community Church in Golden, Colorado, believes John's revelation is telling believers to "stick with Jesus, worship Jesus, and you will conquer." And even though he admits "life may hurt" for followers of Christ who are in a battle, the pastor says "God is glorified through your sufferings when you suffer with Christ."
