Univ. Library Website 'Anti-Israel,' Says Duke Student Group

(AgapePress) - Conservative students are fed up with a Duke University website they believe contains anti-Israel propaganda.

Members of the Duke Conservative Union were outraged to learn that a school library website called "Palestine Internet Resources" was replete with factual errors about the Middle East conflict and contained anti-Semitic views.

DCU president Nathan Carleton says although his group asked library administrators to make changes to the website, little was done. "It listed Hamas a political group [and] had a link to a barbed-wire Star of David," he explains, adding that of the 14 news sources listed on the site, 13 of them were liberal.

"The [school] administrators they went to certainly didn't think it was 'political cheerleading,' as the students thought it was," he says.

According to Carleton, the website is operated by Christof Galli, a member of the radical Saudi-funded "Muslim Networks Consortium."

"The group that this [website] administrator was in is run by man named Ibrahim Musa, who I had for a professor in Islam class," Carleton says. "He's violently anti-Israel. He made a comment at a panel that he believes the language of terrorism will go out and be replaced with 'resistance to American imperialism and self-defense.'"

Carleton says hostility toward the nation of Israel is prevalent in Duke classrooms. The library website made the erroneous claim that "millions" of Palestinians had been expelled by Israel in 1948 -- and a map of Israel on the site was even labeled "Palestine."
