(AgapePress) - A Massachusetts businessman says the people of his state are growing tired of ultra liberals like Barney Frank, and that is why he is trying to unseat the longtime congressman.
Barney Frank has inhabited a very safe Democrat district near Boston, and has had very little trouble getting re-elected over the years. But now the Republicans hope Boston Christian radio talk-show host and businessman Chuck Morse can change that.
"There's indication that the state's changing. I think that people like Kennedy and Frank are old dinosaurs, and people are looking for something new in the state," he says.
One reason Morse says he wants to unseat Frank is because of the openly homosexual congressman's support of the Massachusetts Supreme Court's ruling on homosexual marriage.
"It's really something that is very angering to a lot of people -- not only because of the senselessness of declaring homosexual couples married, but also because of the way it was done. It should be a matter that's debated by the state and by the state legislatures, not by appointed judges," Morse says.
The conservative commentator believes Frank's hold on his constituency is waning. He says, "I think people resent his undemocratic support for such fiat rulings by appointed judges as the declaration of gay marriage as legal in the state of Massachusetts. My election will send a clear message to the state legislators that people in the state don't support that particular agenda -- and they don't."
Morse says Frank is part of the left-wing cultural elite that are trying to turn America away from moral values. Moreover, he says politicians like Frank are "dinosaurs," and the people of his district are looking for someone new to represent them.
