Wisconsin Pol: Baldwin's Podium Appearance Reveals Dems' True Agenda

by James L. Lambert
August 2, 2004

(AgapePress) - A black conservative running for Congress in Wisconsin says his potential opponent this fall is the "poster child" for the homosexual rights movement.

Democratic Congresswomen Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin made a major speech from the podium of the FleetCenter in Boston during last week's Democratic National Convention. Baldwin, the second speaker on Monday, is a prominent lesbian and a strong advocate for homosexual rights.

Ron Greer
One of Baldwin's possible Republican opponents this fall is Ron Greer, a former fireman in the Badger State. In order to face the Democratic incumbent for Wisconsin's 2nd District House seat, Greer must win the Republican district primary in September.

Greer has had personal experience with homosexual rights advocates. In 1998 he was relieved of his duties as a fireman because his beliefs and speech regarding the homosexual lifestyle ran contrary to the position of his lesbian department head. According to Greer, tolerance is a one-way street when it comes to political correctness.

"The national Democratic Party has made it clear that homosexual marriage is a big issue for them," Greer said last week as the Democratic Convention kicked off. He contended that while it would likely not appear on prime-time TV, the convention would be filled with advocates of same-sex "marriage." Massachusetts, host of the convention, is also the first state to introduce homosexual marriage by decree from their state's Supreme Court.

Greer contends that if anyone does not recognize the Democratic Party's position on this issue, "they need not look any farther than Tammy Baldwin, poster child for the homosexual rights movement."

The potential challenger notes that Baldwin is a strong advocate of "homosexual marriage, homosexual adoption, and writing [hate crime] laws that penalize people that speak out against [that lifestyle]." In contrast, Greer believes all Americans should honor the deeply held religious beliefs of people who believe in moral absolutes. He vows to defend traditional marriage and to challenge those attempting to undermine the moral foundation of the nation.

The former fireman also says he is annoyed when homosexual rights advocates compare their struggles to those of Martin Luther King, Jr., and the civil rights movement of past decades. He points out stark differences between both political movements. He says homosexuals, as a group, are much more affluent and influential in society today than blacks were in the 1950s and 1960s. And as a minority, he says, people of color are clearly identifiable.

In Greer's view, there is no comparison between the two groups. "They have hijacked the civil rights movement," he says.
