(AgapePress) - A Louisiana-based evangelist believes the United States is ripe for a true revival. And because of a unique, youth-targeted outreach, some of the seeds of revival may already be taking root in America's public schools.
Tim Todd of Revival Fires Ministries travels the nations preaching the gospel. He says many believers are hungry for a spiritual awakening and want to make a difference for Christ in the midst of a secular society.
One way some Christians are making a difference, Todd notes, is through a push to take back the nation's public schools from liberal, secular forces. "God is working overtime through his key people to make a difference in our nation," he says, "and we are seeing a revival take place, even though the devil is just trying to destroy our public schools."
And according to the Louisiana evangelist, many of the dynamic believers on the front lines of this battle are Christian children. "We've got young people that are raising up in these last days and taking back what the devil has stolen," he says.
To help them accomplish this, Todd publishes the Truth for Youth Bible. The readable and relevant translation features the New Testament (God's Word Version) scriptures, along with comics designed to help youth understand what the word of God has to say about topics that matter to kids.
"These comics deal with the truth," Todd explains, "about issues of moral concern that our young people are confronted with every day -- things like sexual purity, the truth about homosexuality, what the Bible says abortion, about evolution, pornography, and drugs, drinking, and peer pressure."
Revival Fires Ministries has provided hundreds of thousands of Truth For Youth Bibles to Christian teenagers, who in turn commit to give a copy of this youth-targeted New Testament to an unsaved friend. Thus the ministry equips young believers to make a difference for Christ on their campuses, despite strong anti-Christian influences entrenched there.
"The Bible says you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free," Todd says, "so even though the liberal agenda that is being promoted in our public schools is going forth, we're going in there with the truth of God's word."
Todd recently partnered with American Family Radio to sponsor National Truth for Youth Week. During the special outreach, young people were encouraged to call or go online and request a free Bible to give away. Although that annual promotion has ended, the Bibles are still available at special discounted rates to young Christians who wish to share God's word with their unsaved schoolmates.
