(AgapePress) - An expert on the Middle East says it is time for the United States to stop appeasing Arab nations. In his book The American Prophecies, Michael Evans says America's position in the last days will be determined by the nation's choice of allegiance. At this time in history it is vital, he says, for U.S. leaders to support Israel and cut all ties to terrorists.
Evans believes it is unfortunate that many American leaders, such as former President Bill Clinton, have thrown their support behind terrorists. He says during the Clinton Administration, the former U.S. commander-in-chief struck a deal in a last-ditch attempt to create a distraction from the scandals that plagued his presidency.
Evans claims Clinton's deal involved Saudi ambassador Prince Bandur bin Sultan, himself suspected of extensive corruption, and Yasser Arafat who, according to the author, "has committed 2,360 acts of terrorism." He alleges that Clinton "offered Arafat 30 billion dollars, plus East Jerusalem, plus 98 percent of Judean Samaria, if he would have a 'Camp David photo op' and make peace."
And why, Evans asks, did the former president do all this? "Because Bill Clinton wanted a photo-op to put over Monica Lewinsky's face," he says. But whatever their reasons, he insists, America's leaders must stop rewarding terrorist organizations whose activities line up against God's word.
The author contends that the root of the war on terror can be traced back to the two sons of Abraham and that descendants of the biblical patriarch are even today fighting an ancient feud that threatens to engulf the entire world.
"This is the crux of our dilemma right now over 9-11," Evans says. "We are joined at the hip with these two ancient prophetic brothers, Ishmael and Isaac. We're trying to appease both and it doesn't work."
Instead, Evans asserts, America must take a stand -- must "draw a line in the sand and say 'No more,' " where terrorist-supporting countries are concerned. Whether they have oil or not, he says, any government that supports, harbors, or funds terrorists should be put on the terrorist list and treated accordingly "until they prove that they're going to behave and do right."
The author of The American Prophecies says terrorists hate the United States primarily for one reason -- America's support of Israel. Evans' book recently surpassed Bill Clinton's My Life in sales on Amazon.com.
