Family Advocate Says Bush Taking Heat for Resisting Radical Liberal Agendas

by Bill Fancher
September 23, 2004

(AgapePress) - A pro-family spokeswoman says the use of deception by radical pro-abortion and pro-homosexual groups to promote their political and social agenda is not succeeding.

According to Wendy Right of Concerned Women for America, these non-governmental organizations advocating so-called "reproductive rights" and "sexual freedom" have been pushing their various agendas on the international level, mostly by clouding them in obscure rhetoric. Nevertheless, she says, their strategy is simply not working.

Wendy Wright

Wright suggests that feminist pro-abortion and pro-homosexual organizations have been trying to push their objectives on the world body largely through obfuscation and misdirection. "What they've been doing is introducing resolutions or various declarations in U.N. forum, where they convince countries to sign on and they have vague language that many of these countries don't realize as meaning something like abortion on demand," she says.

The CWA spokeswoman continues, "Most people are not aware that it's really about a radical sexual agenda and abortion rights agenda that thankfully the U.S. is, right now, not agreeing to and is fighting vociferously against at these U.N. conferences."

But Wright says the U.S. delegation has seen through these efforts and stood in the way, and that has unfortunately opened the door to criticism of the president. "When the U.S., which does recognize the language, refuses to sign on to these documents," she says, "these groups then claim that the United States is isolating itself from the world community and is rolling back its commitment on women's rights."

Nevertheless, Wright says, if these liberal groups are trying to alienate the United States from other nations, it appears that strategy, too, is failing as the other nations are starting to catch on. She says more and more countries are beginning to align themselves with the U.S. to fight the establishment of special rights for homosexuals and abortion on demand.
