Bauer: Thwarted Female Homicide Bomber Should Send Message to Bush and Sharon

(AgapePress) - A Christian pro-family activist says the recent arrest of a would-be female homicide bomber by Israeli authorities illustrates just how bloodthirsty the Palestinian terrorists are, and why it is a mistake to give them a homeland.Gary Bauer of the group American Values notes that unless viewers get the Fox News Channel, they probably missed the recent dramatic footage of the arrest of a Palestinian female attempted murderer. The young woman was strapped with 25 pounds of explosives, and was arrested just moments before she was to commit mass mayhem by detonating herself inside an Israeli hospital.
Notably, no other major U.S. television network featured the story on the capture of this attempted homicide bomber. Bauer believes the left-wing media have deliberately ignored the incident and observes, "Not only did the media blank out the story of this woman who intended to kill scores of people at a hospital, but it's blanking out the daily killings of Israelis in the West Bank, in Gaza, right in the middle of the peace negotiations."

If the Israeli military had not been in Gaza, Bauer points out, the 21-year female terrorist would have murdered dozens of innocent Israelis in that facility. He contends that the bomber the Israeli Army interrupted, who was "on her way to a hospital to kill -- she hoped -- 40 or 50 Israelis," is a symptom of what is wrong in the Middle East."It has nothing to do with the lack of a Palestinian State or any of these other extraneous issues," the U.S. pundit asserts. "It's all about the ingrained hatred that has been taught over several generations toward Israel and toward the Jews."
Bauer notes that the female almost-homicide-bomber captured by the Israelis was working for the Aksa Martyrs Brigade. That group, he notes, is controlled by the political party chaired by none other than Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas himself. The American Values spokesman feels this potentially violent incident ought to send a message to U.S. President George W. Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
"This sort of bloodthirsty terrorism is going to undercut the best efforts of anyone and everyone to reach some sort of peace in the Middle East," Bauer says. "I believe both Prime Minister Sharon and President Bush have made a mistake."
Like many supporters of Israel, Bauer disagrees with the planned Israeli withdrawal from the disputed region of Judea and Samaria. According to many Christians' understanding of biblical tradition, this area is "covenant land" given to the Jews by God, and the American Values chairman feels Bush and Sharon would be unwise to keep pushing forward with the plan for Israel to turn the area over to the Palestinians.
