(OneNewsNow.com) - - Concerned Christians in large cities throughout the U.S. are being called upon to be vigilant about efforts by tourism officials to attract homosexual tourists to their cities. According to one Pennsylvania family advocate, many of those officials would rather have homosexuals' dollars in the city coffers than they would traditional values in their communities.
The president of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania is warning concerned citizens in major American cities to be more aware of the push by tourism officials to lure tourist dollars from homosexuals.
In the past few years, Philadelphia and Dallas have launched campaigns targeting homosexual tourists. Recently, Philadelphia officials approved the display of rainbow-colored strips on city street signs. The rainbow flag is an internationally recognized symbol of the homosexual movement.
AFA of Pennsylvania president Diane Gramley says concerned Christians must stay informed and take action when necessary because tourism officials in many large cities value homosexual dollars over traditional values.
"Philadelphia is not the only city that's going this direction," she laments. "I want to encourage folks [in the large cities in their states] to keep an eye on what's going on and what their city council approves and such. It's going to be a matter of vigilance."
Philadelphia was recently named among the top 21 most "gay-friendly" travel destinations in the country by the Travel Industry Association. Topping that list were San Francisco, Key West (Florida), and New York City.
