(christiansunite.com) -- Women from all over the world attend the United Nations' 51st Conference on the Status of Women (CSW) in NY, February 26-March 9, 2007. The priority theme for the 2007 CSW is The Elimination of all forms of discrimination and violence against the girl child.

A team of women made up of a body of leaders from various organizations across the US are hosting workshops on the dangers that abortion can bring to the girl child. The group states that their mission is to educate and empower women on the benefits of womanhood and motherhood and teach women how to be world changers. "Violence to the girl child through the trauma of abortion is happening in several countries around the world," says", Molly White, founder of Women for Life International.

The problem of abortion hurting women is ignored by the government, media and our culture says White. The team of women has experienced abortion and count themselves as expert witnesses to the physical, emotional and psychological pain and suffering that abortion causes.

Cynthia Collins (Louisiana), TV Host and director of World Generation Outreach states "it is alarming how these gruesome practices have spread to almost every corner of the globe."

CSW's plans for the conference are to make every effort to integrate into their deliberations the review topic of sustained change for women and girls. This requires that gender equality become part of the fabric of education and social norms. Both delegates and NGO officials are addressing gender-based discrimination even before birth.

Millie Lace (Arkansas), Licensed Professional Counselor and Director of the National Helpline for Abortion Recovery says that if CSW is truly pro-woman and truly wants to protect women, they should call upon governments to protect girls (and boys) from the earliest stages of life.

The team of leaders is sponsored by the Endeavor Forum, Inc., an NGO based in Australia. Paying their own expenses to NY, the leaders demonstrate commitment to their cause.

Women for Life International conclude that the CSW should call upon governments to strengthen their laws and enforcement against sex selected abortion and sexual exploitation of women and girls. If action is taken today, then we stop global movement of violence and discrimination against women and the girl child.
