Anaheim, California (christiansunite.com) - "San Francisco has proven yet again why they remain the mocked city of the country," said the Rev. Louis P. Sheldon, Chairman and Founder of Traditional Values Coalition. "No other major city in the nation has gone so far as to blatantly glorify a homosexual porn producer and company. This is absurd."
Yesterday it was reported that San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, State Assemblyman Mark Leno and San Francisco Treasurer Jose Cisneros issued official proclamations or resolutions honoring Colt Studios on its 40th anniversary, one of the largest producers of explicit homosexual porn in the country. Newsom is now backpedaling from the proclamation issued by his office claiming someone else authorized it and not him directly.
"What Newsom, Leno and company are doing is blatantly glorifying homosexual sex acts and an industry that relishes in sexual deviance and behavior to make a buck," Sheldon said. "San Francisco's elected officials have outdone themselves. Gone are the days of celebrating one of their fellow homosexual leaders. They can no longer claim they are not flaunting the homosexual lifestyle to the public. What else would you call giving special honors from government positions to a homosexual porn producing company? This is nothing more than in-your-face glorification homosexual sex acts on film."
Benjamin Lopez, TVC's legislative analyst and lobbyist who deals with legislators like Mark Leno said, "Mark Leno says one thing and does another. His stance on pornography is inconsistent."
Last legislative session Leno served as chair of the Assembly Public Safety Committee. Leno claimed then that he was tough on pornography, particularly child pornography, during a bill's debate on multiple images of porn on CD's. Leno took heat for his initial position that several images on one CD constituted one image of porn, not several.
"When it comes to the porn issue, Leno is not straightforward. In fact his position is ambiguous, unclear and confusing," Lopez said. "In one breath Leno claims to be tough on porn and porn sentencing, yet he then gives special recognition to a company whose sole purpose is to film, produce and sell some of the most explicit 'gay porn' showing the most bizarre sex acts. You are either against pornography period, in all its forms, or you are not. You can't say child porn is wrong, yet glorify other forms of porn. Sorry Mark, porn is porn and it should not be glorified!"
Traditional Values Coalition is calling on Newsom, Leno and Cisneros to publicly reveal if they received any political contributions or support, in any fashion, from Colt Studios or any other homosexual porn producing companies.
