California Supreme Court Schemes to Destroy Marriage

SACRAMENTO, (christiansunite.com) -- In response to the City of San Francisco and three groups dedicated to the overthrow of marriage filing their legal brief today urging the California Supreme Court to create "same- sex marriages," the VoteYesMarriage.com coalition is urging Californians to rise up to protect marriage for a man and a woman from the clutches of judges and politicians.

"Nearly everybody knows that children do best with both a father and a mother," said Randy Thomasson, a VoteYesMarriage.com spokesman and an official proponent of The Voters' Right to Protect Marriage Initiative, which is raising funds to appear on California's 2008 ballot. "Unfortunately, most judges in San Francisco and most politicians in Sacramento are out of touch with the reality that marriage is only for a husband and wife, an adult male and an adult female. It's imperative that the people of California rise up and place the VoteYesMarriage.com amendment on the ballot to protect marriage for one man and one woman once and for all."

"We fully expect the California Supreme Court to destroy marriage for a man and a woman," said former Assemblyman Larry Bowler, an official proponent of the VoteYesMarriage.com amendment. "At least four justices on that San Francisco bench are against the broad majority of California voters, who want marriage preserved and protected. The high court could deal a low blow to the voters by creating so-called 'same-sex marriages' in late 2007 or early 2008."

"No relationship is equal to marriage between a man and a woman," added Thomasson. "No relationship between two people can compare itself to marriage, which is an exclusive relationship between a husband and wife. The City of San Francisco is attacking and blatantly discriminating against the voters of California, who have already demanded that marriage be protected for a man and a woman. Now the voters must rise up again to protect marriage -- this time, with permanent protection in the California Constitution, high above the reach of the judges and politicians."

The VoteYesMarriage.com coalition is seeking U.S. citizens and legal residents who will donate $2.5 million to place The Voters' Right to Protect Marriage Initiative on the California ballot as a state constitutional amendment that will fully and permanently protect marriage for one man and one woman.
