(christiansunite.com) -- One only needs to visit the Holocaust Museums in Washington, D.C. or Jerusalem, Israel to see the horrific truth. One of the most graphic illustrations of the Holocaust is found in the Yad Vashem Holocaust Remembrance Museum in Jerusalem where a pit about the size of a box car is filled to the brim with shoes - shoes of all sizes, men's shoes, boy's shoes, women's shoes and girl's shoes. These shoes represent some of those actual Jews who were systematically executed by Hitler's Nazi regime.Each year in April, the world observes Holocaust Remembrance Day in memory of the 6 million Jews who lost their lives during the Nazi reign of terror. This year it falls on April 16th in Israel. While a remembrance of those who suffered and still suffer the Holocaust is proper, radio talk show host, Rabbi Daniel Lapin, nationally acclaimed speaker and best- selling author, believes that Judaism is about adding joy to life not recalling gas chambers and crematoria. In fact, Rabbi Lapin says that a private day of remembrance within the Jewish community is fine, but force-feeding Holocaust studies to non-Jewish students may be causing anti-Semitism rather than reducing it.
