NASHVILLE, Tenn., (christiansunite.com) -- New Midas Records band Rush Of Fools holds the #1 position on multiple radio charts with their single "Undo" for the fourth week in a row. 100% of AC reporting stations in the country are playing the single, an unprecedented accomplishment for a debut band's first single. In addition to the current radio success, the band's self- titled May 8 project debuted at #3 on the "Christian Adult Contemporary Overall Chart," #9 on the "Top Current Contemporary Christian Chart" and lands the #181 position on the Billboard "Top 200 Chart." The record also garnered the #1 Christian album spot on iTunes this week. The iTunes chart position places the newcomers among the most successful artists in Christian music history and positions them from a sales and radio perspective at a top position of every chart. Having quickly gained attention for the rapid success of the single since its January 12 release to radio, "Undo" hit the iTunes "Top 10 Christian Songs" chart during its first week live on iTunes and achieved strong positioning on the "Top 100 Christian Artists" list on the digital networking community MySpace. The band was also recently presented with the "BDS Airplay Award" in recognition of more than 10,000 spins received for "Undo" in radio markets nationwide.
"From our first meetings with Midas, we knew Rush of Fools was something special," says Greg Bays, senior vp, sales & marketing, EMI CMG. "Response from retailers - both digital and physical - has shown how the single, "Undo" resonates with consumers. People identify with the message of this song. The album is loaded with tracks like this and the band's authenticity connects with the audience. The band and the team at Midas have been incredible partners with our team and with our retail partners on the set up of this project. We expect to have a long, successful run together."
Among the likes of Martina McBride's Waking Up Laughing and Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway, Rush Of Fools' Midas Records/EMI CMG Distribution release appears as one of the iTunes overall "Top 100 Records" this week, positioning the group's debut release among today's top mainstream records worldwide. In addition to their U.S. radio success, "Undo" is also the #1 song on Canadian Christian Radio Charts.
"I continue to be amazed at the deep connection that Rush of Fools is making with consumers and industry partners," states Bob Morrison, Midas Records. "A band like this comes along only once in a lifetime. They are making a difference in people's lives and that is the goal we aspire to achieve in Christian Music. Our partners at EMI, radio and retail as well as our media partners have embraced the band and we look forward to the many great things that are still ahead!"
Building on their recent radio success, Rush Of Fools completed a multi-city promotional tour surrounding their May 8 street date, on which they hit cities such as L.A., Chicago, Dallas, Colorado Springs and Orlando. The band has been regularly performing throughout the country on national Christian television shows and mainstream television morning shows, as well as conducting live performances and interviews on national and local market radio shows and with print media outlets.
