Homosexual 'Marriages' Forever in Massachusetts

SACRAMENTO, Calif., (christiansunite.com) -- VoteYesMarriage.com, sponsor of The Voters' Right to Protect Marriage Initiative to permanently and fully protect marriage for one man and one woman in the California State Constitution, is responding to the Massachusetts Legislature blocking the people's vote on marriage by redoubling its historic effort to raise the necessary funds to place true-blue marriage protection on the California ballot.

"It's a good thing California voters can protect marriage for one man and one woman without getting the politicians' permission first, as is required in Massachusetts," said Randy Thomasson, an organizer of VoteYesMarriage.com. "California's VoteYesMarriage.com amendment needs to raise $2.5 million to place marriage on the California ballot. We must override the judges and politicians who are scheming to destroy marriage as a special institution for one man and one woman."

The VoteYesMarriage.com campaign has filed different versions of its language, including one that today received title and summary from Attorney General Jerry Brown. However, VoteYesMarriage.com plans to circulate petitions for another version of The Voters' Right to Protect Marriage Amendment, which will be cleared for signature gathering in July.

California has a crucial need to protect marriage for one man and one woman. Today was also the deadline for legal briefs to be filed on the consolidated marriage cases at the California Supreme Court. Later this year or early next year, the majority of the high court justices are expected to impose same- sex "marriages" upon all 58 counties throughout California, just like the judges did in Massachusetts.

Meanwhile, the Democrat-controlled California Legislature is pushing AB 43, the same- sex "marriage" license bill, as well as SB 11, which awards all the marriage rights and benefits in California to a man and a woman who are merely living together but refuse to get married. These bills make a mockery of marriage.

"The only way to protect marriage for one man and one woman in California is to quickly raise $2.5 million to place the VoteYesMarriage.com amendment on the ballot," said former Assemblyman Larry Bowler, a proponent of The Voters' Right to Protect Marriage Initiative. "If you're tired of the constant attacks upon marriage, and hunger and thirst for a full and permanent solution, the time for action is now, not later."
