MADHYA PRADESH, INDIA (christiansunite.com) -- Gospel for Asia missionary Sumat Yadav and his church in Madhya Pradesh, India, were recently harassed by local anti-Christian fanatics. On June 17, police and fanatics came to the church and demanded the believers stop worshipping due to complaints. The problem began when these same fanatics approached a Gospel for Asia ladies team and asked if they were trying to convert people to Christ. The women replied "yes," and the villagers demanded that the church stop worshipping.
The police took the pastor and three lady missionaries into custody and interrogated them for two hours. After answering truthfully, they were finally released.
The next day, fanatics from this same village came to our lady missionaries' house with sticks and attempted to get inside. They weren't able to get inside the house, so they threatened the ladies before leaving. The women missionaries have left the area and are safe.
A few days later, the same residents threatened Pastor Sumat. He and some believers lodged a complaint at the police station, and by God's grace the police responded positively. The pastor has stated the situation is peaceful now.
Praise the Lord for His intervention in this situation. Pastor Suman asks that you please pray for God's continued protection over these believers and their families. Also pray for the pastor to stay strong in the Lord.
