National Pro-Life Leader Joins Roster of VIPs at Schenck Anniversary

WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- Fr. Frank Pavone, head of Priests for Life and president of the National Pro-Life Religious Council, has joined the line-up of nationally recognized leaders who will appear at a November 17 Washington gala honoring the 25th anniversary of P&R Schenck, Associates in Evangelism, Inc., the formal moniker for the ministries of twin Christian activists Paul and Rob Schenck.Fr. Pavone, well known as the man who developed Priests for Life into one of America's most influential pro-life organizations, is a long-time associate of the Schenck brothers. The Catholic cleric has been called, "The priest who preaches like a Baptist and prays like a Pentecostal." Pavone serves on the executive committee for the National Clergy Council, founded by Paul Schenck in 1989, and on the board of trustees for Faith and Action, established by Rob Schenck in 1994.
The Schencks recently handed over leadership of the National Memorial for the Pre-born and their Mothers and Fathers to Pavone. The "Memorial," as it is known, is in its 13th year as the premiere indoor national pro- life event on Capitol Hill. The gathering is also the only large-scale pro-life prayer and worship service held inside the US Capitol complex of buildings.
The public is invited to the 25th Anniversary event which will also feature Jay Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice, Rev. Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition, Norma McCorvey, the former "Jane Roe" of Roe v. Wade, Pastor Johnny Hunter of L.E.A.R.N., several US senators and members of Congress, and the much acclaimed New Antioch Baptist Church Gospel Choir.
