'The Quiet Hour' Celebrates 70th Anniversary on the NRB Network

NASHVILLE, (christiansunite.com) -- "The Quiet Hour", one of the first Christian television ministries to go on the air in America, is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year."The Quiet Hour" was founded by J.L. Tucker, a minister, in 1937, as a radio ministry. A few years later in 1949, Pastor Tucker let "The Quiet Hour" as it became one of the first ministries to air its programs live on television, and some years later, his son LaVerne also directed the ministry and its television program.
Now, J.L. Tucker's grandson, Pastor Bill Tucker, is the third-generation president of "The Quiet Hour", and is the speaker for Windows of Hope, The Quiet Hour's current television program, which airs Wednesdays at 7pm on the NRB Network.
"The Quiet Hour" is multi-faceted Christian ministry seeking to share the saving grace of a merciful God with the world through television, humanitarian projects, and evangelism. One of this ministry's strengths is empower lay members of the Christian faith to go and share the gospel by participating in mission teams and projects globally.
