Atheists Declare War on Christianity

WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- While billions of people believe in a higher power, a string of recent books by atheists are waging a secular war on the faithful and their beliefs. "What's So Great About Christianity" is the lone work fighting back against the shallow philosophy and hollow creed of atheists and their growing secular influence on our world.

In his latest book, New York Times bestselling author Dinesh D'Souza uses logic, science, and reason to prove the existence of faith and a divine power. He confidently challenges those who use science and physical evidence to deny there is a creator. "What's So Great About Christianity" defends the beliefs of the faithful and strengthens the belief of those who are questioning their faith. Not just a treatise on modern faith and Christian ethics, it will take the debate to the next level even for the most fervent atheists.

D'Souza's "What's So Great About Christianity" also illuminates the struggle all Christians feel in this modern secular world; we are encouraged to praise God in church, but ignore Him in our professional and social lives. It is that concession, D'Souza argues, that is causing us to lose the war to atheists and agnostics who continue to spread secular myths and lies about miracles, faith, and even historical facts.

"What's So Great About Christianity" rips apart myths about faith, including:

MYTH #1: Atheism is growing and more people are choosing it over church

Pews might be empty in some urban parts of America, but the world is witnessing a huge explosion of Christianity. Despite the headlines, Christianity is the fastest-growing religion in the world and the number of unbelievers is actually shrinking.

MYTH #2: Religion has caused history's wars, murders, and violence

Atheist regimes have caused the greatest mass murders in history. Historically, the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Galileo affair, and witch hunts are vastly overblown. Comparing these events over 500 years with murders during modern atheist regimes, Christian rulers caused just 1% of the number of deaths caused by the regimes of Stalin, Hitler, and Mao.

MYTH #3: There is no such thing as a human soul

Atheists use science to argue that there is no soul, as there is no physical evidence of one. But D'Souza argues that there is evidence of something besides brain tissue that allows us to identify and use free will, have a consciousness other animals lack, and even have inner thoughts that are not merely a means to our survival. Atheist reasoning actually proves the material world isn't the only world there is.
