Kansas Planned Parenthood Clinic Charged Over Illegal Late-Term Abortions

(christiansunite.com) - Phill Kline, the District Attorney for Johnson County, Kansas has just filed charges against a Planned Parenthood clinic in Overland Park. The charges include 29 counts of performing illegal late term abortions; 29 counts of unlawful failure to determine the viability for late term abortions; 23 felony counts of making false information and 27 counts for unlawful failure to maintain records. In 2000, TVC joined with Life Dynamics in exposing the work of the Planned Parenthood's Comprehensive Health For Women in Overland Park in a complicated baby body parts shipment operation. Life Dynamics obtained copies of daily tissue logs showing fulfillments of orders for eyes, livers, pancreas, arms, lungs, etc., that were shipped to researchers by the Anatomic Gift Foundation in Laurel, Maryland.
Abortion typically mutilates a baby beyond recognition. Yet, these body parts were intact and available for sale. The only way this can be done efficiently is for the abortionist to perform a partial-birth abortion, which involves sucking the child's brain out and then delivering an intact dead baby. The infant is then carved up to fulfill "research" orders.
One Anatomic Gift Foundation tissue log shows that a baby girl of 24 weeks gestation from an Hispanic mother, was cut up, sold, and shipped to eight researchers. The girl's leg, arm, pancreas, liver, thymus, eyes, and one arm were shipped.
D.A. Kline's charges against Comprehensive Health do not directly relate to the sale of baby body parts, but our records clearly show that there are unanswered questions about this grisly operation. Is this clinic still supplying baby eyes, arms, livers, and other parts to vendors like the Anatomic Gift Foundation?
The investigation into the baby body parts industry discovered a price list of parts from a company called Opening Lines, a division of Consultative & Diagnostic Pathology. In 1999, a spleen from an aborted baby was selling for $75; a thymus was going for $100; Gonads were selling for $550, etc. Selling the remains of aborted children appears to be a lucrative side business for abortion doctors.
Back in the 1990s, Planned Parenthood's operation in Overland Park was apparently operating somewhat like a slaughter house - where every part was used except the silent scream of the unborn boy or girl.
We commend Mr. Kline for his efforts to prosecute suspected crimes committed by Planned Parenthood. As Kansas AG, Kline had plenty of reason to suspect that abortion clinics were routinely hiding the fact that many underage girls seeking abortions had been impregnated by adults. Underage girls cannot legally consent to sex with adults. Hiding this fact is a serious crime.
The charges against Planned Parenthood in Overland Park are nothing new. Six years ago, TVC, in association with Life Dynamics, posted a series of taped phone calls between girls posing as victims of statutory rape and abortion clinic phone counselors. The series is still posted on our web site. It reveals a pattern of behavior among abortion clinic workers of being willing to overlook an adult-child sexual relationship and the pregnancy that resulted. In short, these workers were unwilling to report a statutory rape to the authorities in order to sell the abortion services to an underage girl.
TVC, along with numerous other pro-family groups have just sent a letter to every Member of Congress asking that federal funding of Planned Parenthood be revoked in light of this indictment against Planned Parenthood in Kansas. Planned Parenthood currently receives $300 million a year in various federal funds.
What's occurring in Kansas is only the tip of the iceberg. The tape recordings of abortion clinic workers and women posing as teens in trouble clearly show a nationwide pattern of overlooking statutory rape.
No tax dollars should go to an organization that appears to routinely cover up the rape of girls. Members of Congress should be forced to step up and cut off all funding to Planned Parenthood. The Department of Justice may also wish to jump into this case to investigate if other abortion clinics are covering up statutory rapes.
Abortion is still legal in all 50 states, but violating state reporting laws on statutory rape is illegal and should be vigorously prosecuted. Phill Kline has shown the courage to prosecute these cases. It is my hope that Members of Congress, the Department of Justice and other DAs and Attorneys General will have the same courage to investigate possible cover ups of statutory rapes in their states.
