(christiansunite.com) - Two car bombs were detonated within two minutes of each other outside churches in the northern Iraq city of Kirkuk on January 9. A bomb exploded at approximately 4:40 p.m. outside the Cathedral of Kirkuk and was followed by another blast less than a mile away, outside the Assyrian Christian Maar Afram church. Buildings, cars and surrounding houses were damaged in the explosions but no people were injured. The attacks came three days after four churches and three convents were damaged in similar coordinated bombings.
Pray for protection of Iraqi Christians as they serve God in this tense rgion. Pray that they will stand firm in their faith at all cost.
Pray that they will not be fearful but trust in the Lord to sustain and guide them (Rev. 2:10).
