NEW YORK, (christiansunite.com) -- Instead of asking, "What Would Jesus Do?" SYSN.org (ShareYourStoryNow.org), an American Bible Society ministry, wants to know, "What Can You Do?" To enter the month-long Flips Ahoy contest that begins on August 4th, participants should go to www.SYSN.org and upload an audio, video or written account of the ways in which they have experienced Word of God in their lives. On September 2nd, one winner, chosen at random, will receive a new Flip Video Camcorder. A donation of $1000 will also be made in the winner's name to the Light of the Amazon, a project sponsored by the Bible Society of Brazil and supported by the American Bible Society, that is designed to provide medical, dental and social assistance to communities in islands within the Amazonian region.
Abigail Tanori, Web Community Manager at the American Bible Society, says, "Although the site has held similar contests in the past, we are particularly excited about Flips Ahoy. Donating money in the winner's name to the Light of the Amazon project allows the recipient to get involved, to become engaged in our ministry, in addition to winning a prize."
At the core of the American Bible Society's work is the belief that God speaks to every generation through the Holy Scriptures, bringing wisdom where there is confusion, faith where there is fear, hope where there is despair, and love where there is hatred. The major goal of SYSN.org is to collect and communicate real stories about how people are experiencing the life- changing message of the Bible, as well as to encourage people to engage the Scriptures and facilitate the development an edifying online community of Bible Advocates.
Entries for the Flips Ahoy contest will be displayed on SYSN.org for at least the next year and there is no limit to the number of testimonials that one person can upload. Participants must be at least 18 years of age. The winner will be notified by e-mail.
