KNOXVILLE, Tenn., (christiansunite.com) -- Due to the overwhelming response of author interest in the "Authors at Abunga" bi-weekly online chats announced by Abunga.com in July, the family-friendly online bookstore has revealed it will begin weekly, one-hour chats in September with the help of authors Bayard Taylor, Jan Kern, co-authors Dillon Burroughs and Marla Alupoaicei, and Dr. Robert Emmons, respectively.

"When we first introduced the Abunga.com bi-weekly author chats a few months ago, we believed they would be a unique way to connect readers and authors," said Lee Martin, Abunga.com chairman. "The past chats have done just that by providing intriguing and insightful conversations, and we are thrilled that we are now able to provide this time with authors each week."

Kicking off the weekly chats is Bayard Taylor. In his new book, "The Late Great Ape Debate," releasing in September, Taylor takes a new twist to addressing the topics of creation and evolution. He works to show how science and the Bible can complement one another. Through his book, he presents a balanced argument for the five points of evolution and shows the strengths and weaknesses of the four Christian- based approaches to the two views. Taylor will join Abunga.com on Sept. 3 to continue this long-debated discussion. More information about Taylor can be found at bayardtayloronline.com.

Jan Kern is an expert on teen and young adult issues and will chat at Abunga.com on Sept. 10 about the difficult issues young adults face in today's world. She is passionate about offering hope to the hurt and broken, and is the author of numerous books including "Scars That Wound: Scars That Heal - A Journey Out of Self-Injury," "Seduced by Sex: Saved by Love - A Journey Out of False Intimacy" and her newest book releasing in September, "Eyes Online: Eyes On Life - A Journey Out of Online Addictions." Visit jankern.com for additional information.

One of the fastest-growing religions in America, it is projected that Wicca will be the third largest religion in the U.S. by the year 2012. Join co-authors Marla Alupoaicei and Dillon Burroughs on Sept. 17 as they discuss the history, culture and practices of this growing religion. Their book, " Generation Hex: Understanding the Subtle Dangers of Wicca," is a result of what they learned from their research interviews with travelers to historic Salem, Mass., practitioners of leading neopagan conferences in the Pacific Northwest and Canada, and dialogue with several current and former adherents of Wicca and other forms of witchcraft. A major scientific study from leading psychologist and research scientist, Dr. Robert Emmons, proves what people of faith and wise sages have known throughout the ages - that counting one's blessings is more than spiritual calisthenics - it's an exercise toward greater personal fulfillment. The University of California at Davis professor has conducted eight years of scientific research on the subject to prove this, and in his book, "Thanks! How the New Science of Gratitude Can Make You Happier," Emmons reveals exciting research that shows how gratefulness elevates, energizes, inspires and transforms as well as gives meaning to life. Emmons will join Abunga.com on Sept. 24. More information is available at www.drrobertemmons.com.

"What's great about 'Authors at Abunga' is the variety of authors we have participating who offer a diversity of personal opinions and topics," Martin said. "Readers are able to tap into the knowledge of these writers from their own home. These chats provide the forum for the writers and readers to connect on a level that goes beyond the words in a book."

All chats are hosted at Abunga.com/AuthorsatAbunga from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. EDT each Wednesday. The schedule of upcoming author participants is posted on Abunga.com and updated as additional authors sign- on to host their own sessions. One week prior to each chat, readers can visit the chat Web page to submit questions for each. Questions are also accepted during chats. Transcripts of all chats are archived on the "Authors at Abunga" page.

Abunga.com is an online bookstore founded to provide families a protected shopping environment. Headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn., Abunga.com offers safety with more than 1.6 million family-friendly titles; savings through distributor-direct prices and support to nonprofit organizations by donating 5 percent of each transaction to a customer-selected charity.
