WICHITA, Kansas, (christiansunite.com) -- Attorneys for late-term abortionist George R. Tiller filed motions in District Court today asking again for a dismissal of 19 criminal charges or, at least, a suppression of evidence gathered by former Attorney General Phill Kline during his investigation into Tiller's abortion business. To support their argument, the motions complain that Operation Rescue may have provided information to Kline about Tiller and his employees."We have copious amounts of information about Tiller and most of it is readily available on our web site. We would be proud to learn that any of our research was used by the Attorney General's office to aid in bringing Tiller to justice," said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue.
"In today's motions, Tiller's attorneys whine about every imaginable complaint - most of which are unrelated to the charges of having committed illegal late-term abortions with the help of another abortionist, Ann Kristin Neuhaus, who had illegal affiliations with him," said Newman. "They filled pages and pages with monotonous carping over every aspect of Kline's investigation, when it was former Attorney General Morrison who actually filed the charges against Tiller. They can't seem to let go of their hatred of Kline."
"The kinds of hysterical accusations made in Tiller's motions are more appropriate for the National Enquirer than a legal brief," said Newman. "It seems to me they are attempting to muddy the waters by bringing up years of bad blood between Tiller and Kline, perhaps for the purpose of influencing a potential jury pool. In any case, we seriously doubt that these motions will succeed any more than any of their other failed attempts to get these charges dropped. We continue to look forward to Tiller's day in court with optimism that justice may finally be done."
