McCain, Obama Reps to Discuss Human Rights and Religion

WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- Faith and Action and International Reapers Foundation hold their annual Reese RoundTable on Capitol Hill, Tuesday, September 23, 2008, 12:00 - 2:00 PM at the Capitol Hill Club, 300 First Street, SE, Washington, DC 20003. Featured guests are Robert Heckman, long-time personal friend and senior advisor to John McCain, and the Reverend Evna La Velle, senior advisor for religious affairs to Barack Obama.The forum will include remarks from Mr. Heckman and Rev. La Velle, followed by a response from Mr. Bernard Reese, constitutional lawyer of 53 years and active Christian layman. The event will be moderated by the Reverend Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK), president of Faith and Action, a Christian outreach to elected and appointed officials in Washington and chairman of the Committee on Church and Society for the Evangelical Church Alliance. The presentations will be followed by a period for questions and answers.
A complimentary full lunch will be served for the first 50 attendees. Congressional members may be billed for meals or may attend for only the program segment that begins at 12:30 PM. Hill staff, interns, executives of non-profits and religious organizations are urged to attend. Media representatives are invited for both the meal and program or may come only for the program segment. (Multi-box for audio will NOT be available.)
