WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- Today Senator Jim Inhofe appeared in a video message to defend the rights of American taxpayers not to fund abortion on-demand with their federal tax dollars. Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser welcomed the Senator's support.

"Senator Inhofe is right when he says it's time for Americans to join together and use their influence to send a strong message to their Senators." said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. "President Obama's recent policy decisions to support the abortion bailout by funding abortion providers both here at home and overseas are out of step with the attitudes of the majority of American taxpayers. Gallup found that fifty-eight percent of Americans disapprove of taxpayer-funded subsidies for abortion abroad, and those views extend to funding abortion here at home. I strongly urge Americans across the country to contact their senators and urge them to fight against the abortion bailout agenda. We won't find any reductions in abortion as long as we continue to subsidize and promote it at taxpayer's expense."

Today Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) released a video for Susan B. Anthony List members and pro-life activists, highlighting the issue of taxpayer funding for abortion. In the video, he remarks,

"Now that we have a pro-choice President who is surrounding himself with radical pro-abortion advisors, we've gotta remain ever vigilant in shedding light on the policies that deny the sanctity of human life. [. . .] Let's join together to stop the abortion bailout and prevent tax dollars from funding the abortion industry. My request to you is to reach out to the Senators who are voting wrong and let them know that you are watching their votes every bit as much as Planned Parenthood is."

The Inhofe video is available on the Susan B. Anthony List website at www.sba-list.org/inhofe. The Susan B. Anthony List's Stop the Abortion Bailout! Campaign has sent over 64,000 letters to the U.S. Senate advocating the preservation of federal abortion funding restrictions. The campaign's goal is to secure the 41 votes necessary to sustain a filibuster against measures promoting federal taxpayer funding of abortion.

The Jan. 30-Feb. 1 USA Today/Gallup poll asked Americans to say whether they approve or disapprove of seven specific actions Obama has taken as president. Of the seven actions, Obama's decision to repeal the pro-life Mexico City Policy and allow taxpayer funding for overseas abortion providers garnered the highest disapproval ratings at 58%.

The Susan B. Anthony List is a nationwide network of Americans, over 152,000 residing in all 50 states, dedicated to mobilizing, advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics. Its connected Candidate Fund increases the percentage of pro-life women in the political process.
