Democracy for China Lies with America Internet Freedom, Charter 08 and Sotomayor

WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- The statue of the Goddess of Democracy stands proud at the Tienanmen Square Memorial along Massachusetts Avenue between Union Station and China Town. A Harvard graduate who witnessed the Tienanmen Square massacre, Dr. Jianli Yang was rescued and returned after five arduous years in prison, to his family in America in 2007, when President Bush secured his release.Today Dr. Jianli - Yang will share his convictions that democracy and freedom are in the hands of America's leaders, at a Capitol Hill meeting led by Senator Sam Brownback. In May of 2008 he walked from Boston to Washington DC to raise human rights issues concerning China, before last years Olympics. His newly formed organization, "Initiatives for China," will exhort leaders of pro-active organizations converging at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center today, to support the bipartisan Senate Resolution 24, sponsored by Senators Brownback and Casey, which endorses Charter 08. Dr. Yang will call for support for Internet Freedom initiatives that will allow a free flow of media access for citizens living in countries such as China, Iran, and Vietnam.
An advocate for life, in favor of personhood for the unborn in America and China, Dr. Yang expressed concerned with the nomination of Judge Sotomayor to the United States Supreme Court. He will leave on a peace seeking mission, being held Lusanne, Switzerland next week, to meet with the Daili Lama of Tibet.
