Life and Liberty PAC Announces Independent Expenditure in NY-23 Special Election

by Staff
October 21, 2009

MEDIA ADVISORY, (christiansunite.com) -- Life and Liberty PAC, a conservative organization committed to electing pro- life candidates and defeating pro-abortion supporters, today announced an Independent Expenditure radio ad campaign for the Special Election for Congress in Upstate New York.

Opening with audio of President Obama saying "an acorn doesn't fall far from the tree," the radio spot, titled "Acorn" takes aim at "Republican" candidate Dede Scozzafava, calling her "one liberal acorn falling right from Barack Obama's liberal tree."

Blasting Scozzafava for backing Obama's bailouts, most of his Socialized Medicine Scheme, Gay Marriage and Abortion "up to the day of delivery," the ad notes that Scozzafava was rated only 15 percent conservative last year, "worse than most Democrats."

Calling her a "tax-raising liberal," the spot also points to Scozzafava's support from "liberal labor unions, the left- wing Daily Kos Blog and even Acorn itself" as reasons conservatives and taxpayers should avoid her candidacy.

Describing the embattled GOP candidate as "Acorn's Choice, Not Our Choice," the spot, aimed at conservative voters, is designed to drive Republicans to Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman, who is closing on Scozzafava and Democrat Bill Owens in recent polls.

"The eyes of the nation are on New York's Twenty Third Congressional District as to which direction our nation will take," said Life and Liberty PAC spokesman Rick Shaftan. "And here there are three distinct choices: a Barack Obama liberal, a left-wing so-called Republican who agrees with Obama on virtually everything, or a solid conservative ready to stand tall for taxpayers and fight for what we believe in. Life and Liberty PAC is committed to standing with those who stand up against the liberal Status Quo," Shaftan added.

The ad may be heard at www.lifeandlibertypac.com.

A copy of the script is below:

Male VO: And Dede Scozzafava is one liberal acorn that's falling right from Barack Obama's liberal Tree.

Clunk.

Female VO: Scozzafava backs Obama's Bailouts, and has endorsed most of Obama's Socialized Medicine scheme.

Clunk.

Male VO: Scozzafava was rated only 15 percent conservative last year -- that's even worse than most Democrats.

Clunk.

Female VO: And like Obama, Scozzafava's a tax- raising liberal who supports gay marriage and abortion for any reason at all -- up to the day of delivery. That's a fact.
Clunk. Clunk.

Male VO: That's why Scozzafava's been endorsed by liberal labor unions, the left-wing Daily Kos Blog and even by Acorn itself -- the radical and corrupt group that helped elect Obama.

Clunk.

OBAMA: You know, an Acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.

Female VO: Neither does Dede Scozzafava. Acorn's Choice. Not Our Choice.
