HOUSTON, (christiansunite.com) -- Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman is surging in the polls and is positioned to win a landslide victory next week in the special election to fill a vacant Upstate New York Congressional seat, predicts the head of a conservative PAC currently running Independent Expenditure radio spots.Hoffman held a 34-29 lead over Owens with just 14 for Scozzafava. Scozzafava actually led with definite voters earlier in the month 26-22 with 15 for Hoffman. Today, Hoffman is far ahead with those definitely voting, getting 38 percent to 28 percent for Owens and 14 percent for Scozzafava in a poor third.
"Hoffman has surged 20 points in as many days and he's not done yet," Minuteman PAC Executive Director Brett Farley said. "The data shows he's taking half his votes from the pool of undecideds and the other half from disappointed ex-Scozzafava backers."
"It's clear that Doug Hoffman has now become 'the de facto Republican candidate in this race' and that the majority of GOP voters will rally behind Hoffman over the next seven days.
"Doug Hoffman now leads self-identified conservative voters -- 45 percent of those definitely voting -- by 62- 12 over the Democrat, with Dede Scozzafava trailing with 11," Farley noted. "And with those who want Republicans to control the House of Representatives - - 44 percent of those definitely voting -- Hoffman leads by 53-24 over Scozzafava, with 7 percent for Owens."
