ANAHEIM HILLS, Calif., (christiansunite.com) -- Rick Bee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nightlight Christian Adoptions (Nightlight) announced today that in honor of the agency's 50th anniversary, they have approved the establishment of a $50,000 scholarship fund for prospective adopting parents who might not have the financial resources to adopt eligible children.

The scholarship fund is part of the agency's Babushka Fund established over 10 years ago to help orphaned children. The fund will initially be underwritten by Nightlight's operating budget and then they expect to solicit donations to augment their commitment in 2010.

"Families will be eligible for scholarships of $2,000 to $5,000 for the agency's domestic, international and embryo adoption programs, depending on their financial need and the child they desire to adopt," said Kathryn Deiters, Director of Administration. "Eligible children will include special needs children, children over 10 years of age and other children for whom there are fewer waiting adopting parents."

Families will be asked to fill out a short application form and submit it along with their application to adopt. No initial application fees will be required while a family's application for a scholarship is being considered. For more information, please contact Ms. Deiters at Kathryn@Nightlight.org or (714) 693-5437.

Nightlight is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) adoption agency, licensed by the states of California and South Carolina to provide adoption services, and are Hague Accredited through COA. Nightlight provides domestic, international, and embryo adoption services to families in all 50 states. Nightlight has been providing adoption and counseling services since 1959. More information on Nightlight's adoption programs can be found at www.Nightlight.org.
