MEDIA ADVISORY, (christiansunite.com) -- The purpose of these rallies is to persuade Sen. Casey to oppose any "Health Care Bill" that expands federal funding for abortion.

The time and locations of these rallies are as follows

Allentown - 10 AM-11 AM at 8401 Hamilton Street
Contact Person: Kathy Kuhns, Pres., Pro-Life Berks; 610-375-3395

Philadelphia - 12 noon-1 PM at 20th and Market Streets, Southwest Corner
Contact Person: Edel Finnegan, Exec. Dir., Pro-Life Union; 215-885-8150

Pittsburgh - 12 noon-1 PM at 625 Sixth Avenue Regional Enterprise Tower (formerly the Alcoa Building)
Contact Person: Helen Cindrich, Exec. Dir., People Concerned for the Unborn Child; 412-823-8150

Michael J. McMonagle, the President of the Pro-Life Coalition of Pa., provided the following comments on Sen. Casey's position on this issue.

"We urge Sen. Casey to end his hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty on this issue. He says he is pro-life and he opposes federal funding for abortion. Yet, he has declared that he is prepared to vote for the current U.S. Senate 'Health Care Reform' bill that provides a huge expansion of federal funding for abortion.

"Furthermore, he claims that he is 'working on a compromise' to remove the pro-abortion aspects of this bill. Yet, the initial details of his 'compromise' indicate that it is unacceptable to pro-life advocates because it still authorizes the federal government to pay for insurance coverage that includes abortion.

"Therefore, the only way to stop this pro-abortion bill is by a filibuster. So, we urge Sen. Casey to support a filibuster by voting no on cloture. A vote for cloture is a vote for abortion."

McMonagle concluded by stating that "the Dec. 18th rallies are part of a continuing series of our activities to persuade Sen. Casey. These activities included a Dec. 15th 'pray-in' by 40 people at Sen. Casey's D.C. office and will include a candlelight prayer vigil at Sen. Casey's home in Scranton from 8-9 PM on Monday, December 28, 2009."
