EAST SYRACUSE, NY, (christiansunite.com) -- Liberty Counsel is pleased to announce that Christmas has returned to the Minoa School District. The District decided to incorporate both Christian and Jewish songs into the "Holiday" musical and permit teachers to welcome Santa into the classroom. The school also gave a recent assignment asking students to correct grammatical errors in the poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas." Liberty Counsel is pleased that the District resolved the matter quickly.
This year Christian Educators Association International joined with Liberty Counsel's seventh annual Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign, a campaign that is designed to educate and, if necessary, litigate to make sure religious viewpoints regarding Christmas are not censored. Liberty Counsel has legal memoranda that address the law regarding this issue on its website at www.LC.org.
Mathew D. Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, commented: "We are pleased that the spirit of Christmas has returned to the school district. It is not only constitutional but also reasonable to acknowledge Christmas in the public schools.
Now in its seventh year, Liberty Counsel's Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign has been phenomenally successful. We are winning the war against Christmas, but the war is far from over. Each Christmas season stands on its own. While the war will no doubt continue, I think we have made good progress."
