WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- Steve Amerson, also known as America's Tenor, will be the featured soloist at the pre- parade ceremony of the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. The parade is presented by the American Veterans Center and begins at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 31st. It is scheduled to last approximately two hours. Pre-Parade ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 1:15 pm and will be held across from the National Archives at 7th and Constitution.

The parade is held annually and is an opportunity for thousands of patriotic Americans to come together and honor those who have sacrificed so much in service to our country.

The Pre-Parade Ceremony will feature an invocation by Rear Admiral Mark L. Tidd, Chaplain of the United States Marine Corps and Deputy Chief of Navy Chaplains, the National Memorial Day Choral Festival Choir and Steve Amerson.

The parade is a special event, with thousands of participants from marching bands and veterans groups to celebrities such as actors Gary Sinise, Joe Mantegna, and WWII veterans Mickey Rooney and Ernest Borgnine.

The 2010 parade will include a salute to the legacy and sacrifice of the United States Marine Corps and special recognition of the 65th anniversary of victory in World War II and the 60th anniversary of the start of the Korean War.

The parade itself is organized as a marching timeline of American military history, with tributes to and veterans from every generation of military men and women. Also included are tributes to those serving today, as we seek to provide an opportunity for Americans of all ages to honor the current generation.

Since 2006, Steve Amerson has performed for Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation and Society including events in New York City, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, Denver, Los Angeles and at the dedication of the Medal of Honor Museum on-board the USS Yorktown in Charleston. In 2009, Steve was presented the "Bob Hope Award for Excellence in Entertainment" by the Medal of Honor Society. He has also performed for Wounded Warrior events as well as Sky Ball and Snowball Express events for American Airlines.
