(christiansunite.com) - Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senate nominee Sharron Angle (R-NV) met today with U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), during multiple scheduled stops in Washington, D.C.
Cornyn made several statements concerning the meeting:
"It was a pleasure to meet with Sharron Angle today. Sharron ran an impressive grassroots campaign during the Republican primary, and she is assembling a strong General Election campaign team across Nevada. They will implement an aggressive strategy between now and November in order to hold Harry Reid accountable for his 27-year record in Washington."
"As recent polls have demonstrated, Senator Reid is rightfully concerned about Sharron Angle's candidacy. Despite spending $10 million already and waging an increasingly caustic negative campaign out of the gates, Harry Reid still trails Sharron Angle for one simple reason - he has lost touch with his constituents."
"That is why this race will come down to a clear choice for Nevada voters - if they are happy with the reckless spending and massive expansion of government that's taking place in Washington, they should vote for Harry Reid and preserve the status quo. If not, they should vote for Sharron Angle because she will help return accountability and checks-and-balances to Washington D.C."
"Sharron Angle is the fresh voice that Nevadans deserve in the U.S. Senate. I have made it clear that Sharron and her campaign will have the full resources and support from the NRSC and from my Republican colleagues in order to ensure her victory against Harry Reid this November. I look forward to welcoming her into our ranks next year."
Angle spokesman Jerry Stacy said the mounting determination to replace Reid with Angle continues to increase rapidly. "The nation and especially Nevada have suffered under Harry Reid's failed leadership. One meeting with Sharron Angle and you know right away that she is sincere about getting this country back on its rightful track. The nation's capital is awaiting more people like her."
Stacy said Angle was staying over in D.C. to carry out an active schedule, and would return to Nevada later this week.
