WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund announced its support of candidates Marsha Blackburn (TN-07), Virginia Foxx (NC-05), Cynthia Lummis (WY-AL), Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (FL-18) and Jean Schmidt (OH-02). SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said of the endorsements:"Supporting these faithful pro-life leaders was an easy decision. Each one of them stands as an example of an authentic, pro-life woman leader who knows that the rights of one are not built on the broken backs of another. We will need their continued leadership in the months ahead as we fight abortion subsidization in the health care reform law and the recent attempt to legalize abortion on military bases."
The SBA List Candidate Fund previously endorsed Blackburn, Foxx, Lummis, McMorris Rodgers, Ros-Lehtinen and Schmidt for their respective seats in 2008.
In the November general elections, Marsha Blackburn will face Greg Rabidoux in TN-07, Virginia Foxx will see Bill Kennedy in NC-05, Cynthia Lummis will meet David Wendt in the WY-AL election, Cathy McMorris Rodgers will face the Democratic primary winner in WA-05, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen will see Rolando Banciella in FL-18 and Jean Schmidt will face Surya Yalamanchili in OH-02.
"These women have been leading the fight to reclaim an authentic feminism that includes a pro-life platform. We are proud to put our support, once again, behind these faithful pro-life women leaders who have laid the groundwork for more to join their ranks," Dannenfelser said.
The Susan B. Anthony List plans to spend $6 million on voter education in the midterm elections, including $3 million on key Senate races, $1 million in bundled direct candidate contributions from SBA List members and $1 million on its plan to target "pro-life" Democrats who voted for abortion funding in the health care bill. The Susan B. Anthony List is a nationwide network of over 280,000 Americans, residing in all 50 states, dedicated to mobilizing, advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics. Its connected Candidate Fund increases the percentage of pro-life women in the political process.
