ST PETERSBURG, Fla., (christiansunite.com) -- Bill Keller, leader of the world's largest interactive Christian website for 11 years, Liveprayer.com, opened his new 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero in NYC this past Sunday with a fiery opening message to a crowd of approximately 40 people, along with a contingent of over 30 local, national, and international press.Keller's message took on two men he classified as "prophets of Baal," Mormon broadcaster Glenn Beck and Ground Zero Mosque Imam Faisal Rauf, making the theological case why those who follow the teachings of Islam and Mormonism will die and their souls will burn in hell.
Keller stated, "The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God representing absolute Truth, and according to the Bible, the only way to be saved is through faith in Jesus Christ. There is no other way to God."
He said he was annoyed about how he and his message has been portrayed in the media, most labeling it as hate speech. Keller lamented, "Sadly, this nation is so far away from God and Biblical Truth, even the most basic Biblical message is now labeled as hateful. The fact is, I didn't dream up the message, it comes right from God Himself in the book He wrote, the Bible, and is there for anyone to read for themselves."
Asked about the Florida Pastor who will be holding a Qu'ran burning ceremony this September on the 9th anniversary of 9/11, Keller said, "I have never met this man, but I assume we probably agree on most things theologically, as well as our views on Islam. However, this stunt has no Biblical support and I don't see how it advances the ball in sharing with the world that Jesus is the only way to be saved."
Keller's 9-11 Christian Center will be holding services each Sunday at 11am in the ballroom of the New York Marriott by ground zero through the end of the year. They will move into their permanent facility on January 1st and begin holding evangelistic services 7 days a week. He said that he will have a special message this Sunday, September 12th, in honor of the 9th anniversary of 9/11.
