MOPS International Staff Provides Help to Local Families at Denver Non-Profits, Sharing the MOPS Message with Local Moms

DENVER, (christiansunite.com) -- MOPS International, Mothers of Preschoolers, staff helped Denver families as part of their annual Christmas celebration yesterday. Staff members provided assistance by completing projects at local non-profits and MOPS group locations, starting with an all staff visit to Confluence Ministries. "All year long MOPS works to see no mom alone worldwide, so directly coming alongside moms in Denver is a great fit for our Christmas celebration," says Shelly Radic, Interim CEO of MOPS and author of Momology. MOPS works to ensure no mom is alone by providing community and support to mothers from all walks of life, including homeless and single parent families and teen moms.Confluence Ministries -- Confluence MOPS Group
Confluence Ministries works to mobilize the church to reach local and global communities through practical acts of kindness and sharing. Confluence MOPS provides a monthly, mothering support group in a bilingual format to local moms. MOPS staff cleaned toys in the MOPPETS classroom and provided supplies for the MOPS group.
Movement 5280 -- Teen MOPS Group
Movement 5280 is a teen community center providing a safe place for teens to hang out and have a hot meal. Movement 5280 provides life skills classes for teen moms, a Teen MOPS group, and clothes and supplies for teen moms and their children. MOPS staff brought and sorted donations for the Teen MOPS group.
Encompass -- MOPS Group
Encompass is a ministry that seeks to uplift orphans, single moms and widows in downtown Denver. Encompass runs a MOPS group that serves single moms and area families. MOPS staff prepared rooms for painting and completed other projects.
Hope House
Hope House is a home for teen moms and their children, with a residential program, a mentoring program and GED program. Terri Kearney, a MOPS staffer, was one of the founders of Hope House in 2000. MOPS staff baked Christmas cookies with the teen moms living at Hope House for the moms to deliver the cookies to the community.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver, Inc.
Ronald McDonald House® Charities of Denver offers a loving home-away-from-home to families needing to be near their seriously ill or injured children while they're being treated at metropolitan area hospitals. MOPS staff provided and served lunch for house residents.
Mile High Ministries -- Joshua Station
Mile High Ministries addresses practical needs of people struggling with poverty, raises awareness of local social justice issues, and cultivates servant leaders. Joshua Station provides a clean, safe and affordable home to 25 families who are on the road to self-sufficiency. MOPS staff provided gift bags of toiletries and visited the facility.
Providence Network -- Joy House
Providence Network provides transformational housing programs. The Joy House is a 2-year transitional housing program that offers help and healing to low-income abused women and children who are leaving domestic violence situations and seeking to rebuild their lives. MOPS staff cleaned toys in the daycare.
