IRVINE, Calif., (christiansunite.com) -- (April 29th-30th, 2011) - One fortunate writer will win a Bookstore Advantage Publishing Package. All entries will be judged for quality, and the award will be announced after lunch before the entire conference. The Bookstore Advantage package will give an author access to distribution backed by one of the most prestigious publishers in the world. See the website for entry rules to the 2nd Annual WestBow Writing Contest. www.occwf.org.

2010 contest winner Mary Henderson, awarded for her book, Break Free, describes the publishing process with WestBow as, "delightful to work with in every way. They have provided excellent professional service each step of the journey, from editorial consultation, to cover design, to marketing strategies." In addition to WestBow Press is the Beverly Bush Smith Aspiring Writer Award for new authors, plus OCCWF's own Fiction and Memoir Writing Contests.

The conference accommodates writers of all levels and genres: Editor in Chief of Christian Communicator Manuscript Critique Service, Susan Osborn will be teaching a "Before You Begin" workshop for curious/beginning writers; Senior Editor at Harvest House, Rod Morris will present "Dialogue Do's & Don'ts" for fiction writers; John David Ware, Founder and President of 168 Film Project will present a workshop on "Pitching Your Book to Hollywood," just to name a few examples. April 29th, Friday's workshops, will be two separate, limited availability, intensive sessions for writing fiction and memoirs.

Simon Tolkien, grandson of J.R.R. Tolkien and Loyola Press Editor Vinita Wright spearhead a diverse panel of publishers, editors, novelists, bloggers, screen writers, columnists, and freelance editors. The conference will also feature 27 workshops, four book acquisition editors, three literary agents, two keynote speakers, and up to two consultations with a faculty member of your choice.

The OC Christian Writers Conference is one of the longest running writers conferences in California, now in its 27th year. Its partnership with WestBow Press reflects the quality of the faculty and writers who attend. The OC Christian Writers Conference is dedicated to bringing in the best speakers, editors, and authors to mentor and instruct writers in almost every avenue of writing. By featuring writing contests and awards, the conference works to single out writers of exceptional talent and promise. See submission guidelines for rules and deadline.
