Sit-in and Arrests at Boehner's Office Will Proceed as Scheduled on February 23 at Noon

WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- HB 217, sponsored by Mike Spence has passed. However, major media sources are already discounting this victory due to the fact that the Senate version of the spending bill will certainly include funds for Planned Parenthood.

For example, AP reported: "The Democratic-run Senate has stronger abortion rights views than does the House, making it unlikely the House proposal will survive."

MSNBC reported: "It is very unlikely that the measure would pass the Democratic-controlled Senate."

In other words, this "victory" may only be symbolic - such as the House vote to overturn ObamaCare; the powers that be are betting that Planned Parenthood will continue to receive federal funds when the Senate passes a bill, and a final spending bill is hammered out in conference committee between the Senate and the House.

We have NO REASON to believe that Mr. Boehner and Co. will insure that the House members on the Conference Committee will make this "a hill to die on." Therefore, pro-lifers and tea party activists should continue forward as if today's vote was little more than a "maybe" or even a cruel ruse regarding defunding Planned Parenthood.

Statement of Randall Terry, Founder, Operation Rescue:

"We have been lied to and betrayed by Republicans in power for decades. For example, from 2000 to 2006 the GOP controlled the White House, the Senate, and the U.S. House. During that time, they continued to fund Planned Parenthood with billions of dollars, while they claimed to be 'pro-life.' Mr. Boehner was part of that ongoing hypocrisy.

"The question is this: Will Sheriff Boehner guarantee that the House members of the Conference Committee will not allow Planned Parenthood funding to be restored? If not, this is all a scam.

"Let us hedge our bets. We need 30 - 35 GOP pro-life members who will vow before God to not vote for any final spending bill that gives money to Planned Parenthood. Their duty is to hold the budget hostage if need be, rather than let Planned Parenthood receive our money."

Concerning the comments of Democrat Rep. Jackie Speier concerning her paying for her child to be killed, Mr. Terry states:

"Rep Speier's statement was very emotional, but lacked details. If her 17 week baby was in the cervix, she had probably already miscarried, and the baby was already dead. If her baby was still alive, and she opted to kill the child, she committed a mortal sin against God and her child.

"Concerning her assertion that Pence's bill is a 'vendetta against Planned Parenthood,' she is absolutely right. Who deserves a 'vendetta' more than this godless, racist cabal? They are the largest child-killers in the western hemisphere, and they deserve our contempt, our vendettas, and every effort we can muster to see them not only defunded, but put out of business forever."
