Heartbeat International Introduces Marathons for Moms Fundraiser

COLUMBUS, Ohio, (christiansunite.com) -- Heartbeat International introduces an exciting fundraiser opportunity for people who love to run as much as they love when moms choose life for their babies. Marathons for Moms (M4M) brings a life-saving purpose to half marathon running. MFM is a simple yet powerful way to support Heartbeat affiliated pregnancy centers across the country while running, or walking, in one of the many already organized marathon races.

Most of the time running a half marathon is about finding your inner strength to master a physical challenge. Heartbeat International wants to challenge runners to make running a half marathon about helping moms find the inner strength to welcome new life. By signing up friends who pledge to support you financially mile by mile, tax-deductible donations can be made to M4M, or the local pregnancy center affiliated with Heartbeat International, at the completion of the race.

"I had run half marathons before, but this time when I ran in the Cap City Half Marathon in May to raise money for Pregnancy Decision Help Center it felt so different," said Cindy Albert, Lancaster, Ohio. "Instead of focusing on myself, with each stride I prayed for the moms my running would help and the miles clicked by more easily. Thinking of the precious babies my Marathon for Moms pledges would save was an added incentive to complete the half marathon."

Heartbeat International joins with Pregnancy Decision Health Centers (PDHC) of Columbus and Ministry Sync to provide this unique fundraising opportunity for runners with a passion for life. Simply visit MarathonsforMoms.org to join the pregnancy help movement and unite with others in different cities and towns all across the U.S. to help save babies by running to help their moms.

"When you commit to run or walk a half-marathon for a woman struggling to give life to her child, the heart's full potential is realized well beyond the 13 miles between you and the finish line," according to PDHC President Tim Welsh, who developed the M4M fundraiser. "Your capacity for love is the true prize of this race."

Heartbeat International, founded in 1971, is a Christ-centered association of around 1,100 pregnancy help centers, maternity homes, non-profit adoption agencies, pregnancy help medical clinics and abortion recovery programs. Pregnancy help ministries provide emotional support, practical help and vital information about human development and abortion risks that women faced with untimely pregnancies need to choose life for their babies.
