LOS ANGELES, (christiansunite.com) -- IndieCross Studios and Transformed Writing are producing a comedy series, called "Makin It LA." The "new media" webisode series (television for the web) follows two friends that move to Hollywood to "make it." The six part mini-series shows the young men in funny scenarios, with crazy characters, as they fight the chaos to reach their dreams. The two companies have pulled their resources together to make this series, with "no budget" and with gear they already possessed. It was made by volunteer writers, actors and film crew that were inspired by Layne McDonald and Melonie Holloway to make something high-quality, fun, and family-friendly. Layne McDonald, the Founder of IndieCross Studios, is inviting all faith-based writers, actors and filmmakers to join IndieCross and make powerful films for the whole family.
"This story is about two friends trying to find their way. We're here to let writers, actors and filmmakers know your home is here, at IndieCross Studios. We are making films, we want you to have a home and get trained for free. It is time to unite and make films." Layne McDonald says, "We want to impact the world, for Christ, and do it through comedic movies, for the whole family. Talent needs a venue to write, act and make films. Families need quality entertainment at home for less than a movie ticket and they need to spend more time with each other. We have the venue, the distribution and families wanting fun clean entertainment. The time is right for us to unite and make this the next great studio in Hollywood."
The online series is scheduled to be released on September 24, 2011, online. The studio will raise funds through commercials, selling digital downloads and DVDs. The goal is to raise enough to turn it into a feature and put into every house with Netflix, Hulu, iTunes, Amazon, Cable On-Demand and DVD. Learn more about the series at www.makinitla.com.
IndieCross Studios is a ministry of Layne McDonald. It was founded in 2008 and moved from Birmingham, Alabama, to Hollywood, in order to encourage, inspire and unite artists to make comedic films. Unite with IndieCross at www.indiecross.com.
